What is the cost of the webinars?
Our webinars are provided free of charge. Most are also posted on our website after the presentation, where they can be viewed free of charge.
I have not received my Zoom link to attend the webinar.
Please be sure you have registered on the webinar event page listed on our website: https://prolongedgrief.columbia.edu/webinars/. Check the email address you used for the registration, as we will send the link to that address.
Is there a recording of the webinar available?
We record most webinar presentations except those in which the presenter does not give us permission to do so. We aim to upload the recordings to our website on the on-demand webinar page within 2 weeks after the presentation.
Will you provide a copy of the slides from the webinar?
We do not provide copies of slides used in the webinars. However, some presenters give us permission to also include the slides along with the recording on the website in a form that can be downloaded.
Are credit hours available for the webinars?
CEU are available for purchase at the time of registration or later for on-demand recordings. To sign up for CE credit for our upcoming live webinars, please visit https://prolongedgrief.columbia.edu/webinars/.
Do your webinars count as a “live”?
Yes. Webinars count as live if you purchase CE before the event and attend the live webinar. CEs can also be purchased for the on-demand recorded webinars and count as self-study.
I attended the webinar and did not purchase the CE add on. Can I still do this?
You cannot purchase a live CE add-on after the webinar is over. However, you can sign up for a self-study CE by accessing this link: https://prolongedgrief.columbia.edu/ce-hour-webinar/. These recordings are usually available on our website within 2 weeks after the live presentation.
I purchased a CE and didn’t receive my certificate of completion.
Certificates of completion are distributed to those who have purchased the CE add-on for the webinar, have attended the entire duration of the webinar, and have completed the certificate request form. We do our best to distribute the certificates by about 2 weeks after the webinar.

Training
What’s the difference between 1-day and 2-day workshops?
The 1-day The Big Picture workshop presents an overview of our framework for understanding grief and prolonged grief treatment. It also includes prolonged grief assessment and differential diagnosis and an illustration of initial treatment procedures like Grief Monitoring. This workshop is intended for an audience of professionals, graduate-level students, and those who work closely with bereaved people like hospice administrators, clergy, and support group facilitators.
The 2-day Practice-Focused Training workshop builds on the 1-day; it will review and illustrate specifically how to apply core procedures of the prolonged grief disorder treatment and troubleshoot common stuck points. It is a deeper dive that is intended for an audience of licensed clinicians or trainees actively working with bereaved clients. We recommend attending both workshops in sequence; however, it is not required so you can decide what best fits your needs.
Do you provide certification in Prolonged Grief Treatment?
At this time, our Center does not provide a certification in PGT. We provide a certificate of completion for our continuing education programming.
Who can receive continuing education credits?
Licensed in the state of New York psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and mental health counselors as the New York State Education Department recognizes the Center for Prolonged Grief as an approved provider of continuing education for these professions.
For psychologists, the Center for Prolonged Grief is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education. If you are licensed outside of New York, please check with your local or state licensing board if continuing education credits will be accepted. Many states recognize the APA approval or have recognized our continuing education programs as we are based at Columbia School of Social Work, a CSWE-accredited institution and part of Columbia University, a regionally accredited university.
