The Center for Prolonged Grief is offering six (6) weekly group consultation sessions, led by Prolonged Grief Therapy expert trainer Dr. Bonnie Gorscak to past attendees of our Practice-Focused Training workshop who are using or planning to use PGDT. Our goal is to support clinicians interested in prolonged grief treatment.

Attendees will have opportunities to share experiences with others actively treating clients with PGD, to get questions addressed with expert feedback, group discussion, and/or role-play practice.  Examples of topics that might be addressed include assessment of clients for PGDT,  psychoeducation about PGD and PGDT, developing a working alliance with a client with PGD, implementing and or troubleshooting any of the PGD procedures, questions about the use of assessment instruments, and other therapy tools. Sessions will center on a discussion of cases and/or questions brought by group attendees.

Consultation groups will be held weekly on Fridays from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM ET on Zoom, beginning April 18, 2025, for 6 weeks. To receive CEs, attendance at all sessions is required.  Partial CEs cannot be awarded.

Testimonials

Initially, I had some reservations about joining the consultation group; I wasn’t sure what to expect and, having not long completed the prolonged grief training, was aware that I was just beginning to apply the theory and techniques to my regular practice. However, my worries were quickly alleviated by the warm and supportive welcome from the Center team and fellow attendees, the friendly yet professional attitudes of all of those involved, and the excellent learning and development that have since taken place. I wholeheartedly recommend the consultation group to any professional, whether they are new in their career or have many years behind them...”

….The discussions were rich and insightful, and I always walked away with fresh perspectives and new tools to try in my own practice. It was also great to connect with other therapists who “get it” when it comes to the nuances of grief work. The group felt collaborative and supportive, and I found myself looking forward to each session. I’d definitely recommend this group. It was such a worthwhile experience!
